Preparation:
Prepare the materials. Spread the flower pictures around the room.
Activity:
Tell the child about bees – they live in a hive and the worker bees collect nectar from the flowers. Then start playing bees yourself – take buckets and collect the flower pictures in them. After the work is done, the bees go to the hive to rest. If the child wants, you can repeat the activity.
Talk about the appearance, habitat and activities of a bee – this supports the development of the child’s self-expression skills and vocabulary.
Additionally:
During the activity, the child will gain practical knowledge about how bees live and this will help to create friendly relationships with nature. You can also add movement to the activity (e.g. gymnastic rings are flowers that the child can jump into while playing bee) or link it to mathematics (count and sort the flowers collected).
