In front of you is an activity book with a purpose of supporting the understanding of a child’s feelings by offering interesting and playful tasks. Everything in this book can be solved together both in a kindergarten group, in a primary class and, of course, at home. The activity book is suitable for children aged 4-9 years. It is important that when solving tasks, the child can discuss feelings and analyse the given situations or feelings.

The main characters of the book, Harald and Freia, are kindergarten-aged twins. This helps the children to identify with them and analyse situations that can also happen to them in their everyday life. The tasks are playful and creative and give the child an opportunity to learn feelings through play and creative activities.

By solving the tasks in the activity book, children learn:

• to understand basic emotions: what they are (joy, sadness, anger, surprise, fear and disgust) and how they are expressed;
• analyse emotional situations (in which situations feelings occur);
• understand a human face with different emotions;
• use different coping strategies;
• draw feelings.

The book is composed by a children’s psychologist and play therapist Olga Luptova. Lovely characters and pictures are drawn by an artist Kadri Võsumäe.
